Gregory D. Hooser
Background and Education
Greg was born in Lubbock, Texas on September 23, 1946, and grew up in Austin. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for both his undergraduate (B.A., 1969) and legal training (J.D., 1972). He was admitted to the bar in 1972.
Areas of Practice
From 1973 to 1974, Greg was briefing attorney for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. For almost twenty years his practice focused primarily on legislative and governmental affairs, administrative, insurance and health law. He has represented more than twenty professional and trade associations before the Texas legislature and various state administrative agencies and has served as the chief legislation representative of both the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Medical Association. His current legislative and administrative clients include dieticians, school food service professionals, private providers of mental retardation services, the surplus lines insurance industry and Scott and White Hospital and Clinic.
